23-03-2006: Onspeed to be available in Asia Pacific
By Gan Yen Kuan

Onspeed, a subsidiary of UK-based ZGroup, has teamed up with media and telecommunications strategy company Teamwork Outsourcing Sdn Bhd to market its Internet acceleration software Onspeed throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Teamwork’s chief executive officer Norm Hosken said Onspeed was important in the region as it was making positive headway to bridging the digital divide.

“Now users can obtain ‘near-broadband’ speed using their existing dial-up arrangements; broadband users can greatly enhance their Internet experience too.

“The user productivity, efficiency and the potential cost-savings are also very significant issues addressed by Onspeed,” he said in a statement on March 23.

Onspeed-Teamwork has also awarded its first corporate usage licence of Onspeed in the region to Multimedia Development Corporation’s unit MSC Management Services Sdn Bhd (MSCMS).

“As the systems and integration facility within the Malaysian Multimedia Super Corridor initiative, MSCMS represents the ideal Onspeed user,” said Hosken.

The software, which has attracted 500,000 users since its launch in the UK in 2004, is able to accelerate web browsing and the download time of attachments without the need for additional hardware.
